half this movie is sidney hiding in a gated cabin and i respect the survival logic even when the film won't. she finally weaponizes the trauma instead of fleeing it. the problem is the rules: part two told us trilogies have none, anyone can die, and then this one quietly shields its core cast and resurrects the dead through home-video footage. the kills feel obligatory. roman as the hidden architect works on paper, but rewriting sidney's origin to make a man the engine of her whole story is a bad trade. competent, watchable, scared of its own taxonomy.

they rebuilt the woodsboro house 1:1 as the stab 3 set and i lost my entire mind. you get to walk back through the original movie like a haunted museum. people file this as the weak one and they're flat wrong. part 3 is where the franchise finally eats itself, ghostface stealing other people's voices with that gadget, the carrie fisher bit, parker posey shadowing sidney like a knockoff. goofier than the first two? obviously, that's the design. a trilogy capper that turns the whole series into a movie set inside a movie is a brave call, and i'll defend it anywhere.
