john waters getting dissolved by acid is the single bravest thing this franchise ever did, and it goes undiscussed. people write this off as the series falling apart. wrong. mancini looked at part 5 and went, what if chucky and tiffany were divorced parents fighting over their kid's gender. that's not a fumble, that's a swing. it goes places it never recovers from, and i mean that as praise. jennifer tilly playing jennifer tilly, the prop head that turns out to be a real head and starts dripping, glen voiced by billy boyd doing the saddest little possessed-doll voice. part 5 of anything is where it stops apologizing. people wanted horror, got a camp comedy, called it a crime. it's the only chucky that knows exactly what it is.
