i'll plant my flag here: this is the BEST child's play, not the lesser one. the toy factory ending is top-tier horror-playground stuff, chucky ripping his own hand off and screwing a knife on like it's nothing, the conveyor belts, all of it practical and nasty. and kyle?? hello?? she does more in 40 minutes than most final girls manage in a whole movie. the original is more clever, sure, but this one is just FUN, dourif got to talk through the whole thing this time and you can hear him enjoying it. nobody believes andy again and you just sit there going, close your eyes kid, simply do not engage with the doll.
