sealed from the outside before the people inside even understand they're already a containment zone. that single move is the whole nightmare. no staging area, no comms with command once the radios die, one stairwell, no fallback, and the contagion runs fast, so every casualty is a fresh hostile inside a minute. you cannot out-attrition an enemy that recruits from your own wounded. the penthouse reveal drifts into theology, which is my blind spot, no defensible line against a sealed origin case. but that rooftop dead-end is a logistics horror i respect. Evac: there was none. containment held. everyone inside paid for it.

one sickly green eye of a lens against absolute black, and out of that black Medeiros unfolds herself. i came prepared to despise the format, a camera operated by a frightened man is not what i call craft. but that final descent understands the oldest law: what you cannot see is the terror, and the lamp you carry is the only mercy you get. no makeup of worth, no orchestra, nothing i usually reach for. Velasco screaming into the lens earned my respect, and the dark earned my fear. that was enough.

pablo never drops the camera. fifteen years on a news rig and that's the only part i believed completely. the whole thing is one continuous unbroken record from firehouse to penthouse and the frame never lies to you. when angela tells him keep recording, keep recording, that's not a gimmick, that's the job. you hold steady even when your hands are shaking. then the light dies, he flips to night vision in that attic, and tristana comes out of the dark green and wrong. best argument for this format ever filmed. no score, no cut to safety. battery never glitches, tape logic holds. i'm fine. i'm not fine.
