wilderness in autumn, a cabin nobody should have rented, and a wind that moves through the trees with purpose. the forest does not like them. it reaches in. the soil keeps its own accounts and the book they found was buried for a reason. the tree scene is cruel and i wish it weren't there. but the rest understands the oldest rule: the land was here first, and it was owed something. you came to the woods uninvited. the woods answered.

who plays the unmarked tape pulled from a stranger's basement? unsecured intel, weaponized, and that's the movie. the cabin itself is a fine little fort, one road, one bridge, hold the door, ration the shells. ash even runs the basement as a resupply line under fire, full marks there. the trouble is the threat is already inside the wire. you can't wall out a thing that wears your friends, and there's no defensible position against a possessed sister at the cellar trapdoor. comms died the second that bridge twisted itself shut. a slow attrition siege, blood weeping from the light fixtures, people picked off one at a time. final standing strength: one guy. Resupply: B, everything else burns.
