those kinect IR dots are the only real piece of camerawork in the whole thing. a grid of light across the ceiling and you watch a hole open in it where the body should be. that's the entity, and i love that they found a real tool to point at the unseen. then they squander it. every cut back to that shot is a billboard saying scare incoming, and once the frame tells on itself the dread is gone. the laptop webcam staring all night is good. the coverage is fine. it's just the same beats from the first one with worse reasons. the format still works here. the movie around it forgot to.
