pruitt taylor vince stands in the doorway hugging that red flying-V like it's a teddy bear, and that image now lives in my skull. loudest possessed-dad movie ever made, and ethan embry's mullet does half the acting. only 80 minutes, which is criminal, because i needed more. who is ray? what's the deal with the voice in the burning building? a prequel, or a sequel where the daughter grows up and the paint starts talking again, either one. there's a franchise buried in this house and somebody just walked away from it. a great opening chapter to a series that doesn't exist yet, and it lowkey should have started one.
