the head goes off seventeen minutes in and i stood up in my own garage clapping. gelatin skull packed with burger meat and wax, shotgun to the back of it off camera, not one fake frame. the final duel is the real flex though, eyeballs bulging, veins crawling, dick smith earning every inch of latex on michael ironside's face while the guy boils from inside. when it's cooking, nothing on screen is faked and you feel it. but it drags hard between the wet parts, too many rooms of men talking about a program. fast forward the meetings, marry the explosions.
