flimsy louvered doors, a wire hanger, and laurie strode bending it into a weapon. you can watch the final girl get invented in real time, right there in a closet. everyone cites black christmas as the origin, but this is the text that turned the rules into canon: she watches, she clocks the threat early, she improvises. survival gets an A. her judgment costs her a full grade, because you do not turn your back on a body you never confirmed, four down by then and she still relaxes. the bogeyman sitting up behind her is the point. carpenter shoots empty hedges and porches like the suburb itself is stalking her, and it works on me every single time.
