A gothic jewel out of Mexico, all recurring dreams and towers that seem to breathe in the dark. Miss Marga López leads her young charges into shadows that cling like cobwebs, and the cinematographer wields that darkness the way a sculptor wields clay. Every corridor is a held breath. This is the old craft in full flower, so refined that Karloff himself would have admired it. 9 skulls.
