a splinter through the palm in the dumbwaiter shaft. somebody on this crew knew exactly how a wound reads when you commit to it practical. the whole thing builds to bodies popping like overfilled squibs and they earned it, real chunks, real weight, none of that weightless digital spray. samara weaving covered head to toe in muck and grinning, that's a craftsman's dream, an actor who'll get filthy for you. docked it half a notch because the finale leans a hair on a digital pop for the big burst. but the hand stuff alone buys my ticket.
