here's my gripe with it. for a movie everybody calls nasty, it keeps the camera polite. the maggot vomit on the bus is real texture, real wriggle, nobody renders that on a laptop and gets it that wet. but then the cleaver comes down and we cut away. severed tendons, a hand on the floor, all teased then yanked, i wanted the joinery and got a reaction shot. still, williams and browning sell the pain so hard you almost forget the budget, that bus took them four days of screaming and you feel every hour. not enough on screen for me. but the two moments it commits, it commits.
