you stick your arm through the wall and a straight razor is waiting on the other side. no quick cut to hide a cheat, just a forearm opening up, and i sat up on my own couch. the masks are the real work, body mods and implants, actual flesh sculpted into clown and devil and witch instead of a nine-dollar piece from spirit halloween. somebody on that crew gives a damn. a fire poker straight through a skull, practical the whole way. i've seen the funhouse, i've seen saw, so nothing here is new. but the kills land because nobody chickened out and went digital. i'll take a borrowed idea in latex over an original one on a laptop every time.
