the table saw kill, swung by the ankle face-first into the blade while the movie keeps that grin going the whole time. this is the rare standalone that actually earns its body count. shipp and hildebrand have the chemistry you usually wait until a third film to find, except there's no third film, and that's the real crime. craig robinson catching a machete to the face during a flirty workout is exactly the swing a franchise builds an entry around. it ends right as it should be getting going. somebody owes us a sequel, the dynamic is too good to leave at one. fun and unfinished in the way only a movie this fun can be.
