new york city outbreak and not one person sets a perimeter. the bioweapon goes airborne in a packed venue and the response is three people and a motorcycle. i'll be straight though, the field execution is clean: close-quarters work, ammo discipline mostly intact, leon and chris running a competent two-man fire-and-move even while wasting rounds on each other. supply line never addressed, the recurring sin of this franchise. the finale acrobatics aren't doctrine, they're showing off. still, the threat is real, the personnel capable, and the body count favors the living. tactical grade: B-.

a motorcycle backflip into the lab finale. who signed off on that. this is the loud kind of horror, no texture no stillness, just clean 4K and a wall of sound that never lets up. all the dread got traded for choreography. leon and chris punching each other with the guns still in their hands like it's a competition, which is the part of these i never get. nobody whispers. nobody waits. i kept wanting the camera to just hold on an empty hallway and listen. the faces almost cross over into real for one uncanny half-second and that's the only thing that actually scared me. very pretty. very awake. not for me but i get why people love it.
