holly stops being the captive and starts running the cage, which is the entire reason this movie exists. ksenia solo flips it and never looks back. people slept on it, but the midpoint turn is genuinely nasty in the best way. my gripe is the ending, there's nowhere left to go, no follow-up, nothing. standalones like this always feel slightly unfinished to me. a second one where she keeps the basement and runs it like a business is right there waiting. somebody fumbled a franchise. and dominic monaghan playing this pathetic is brave casting too.
