Darkness Shall Rise
Rachel, a rookie cop, is about to begin her first night shift in a neglected police station in a Scottish, backwater town. The kind of place where the tide has gone out and stranded a motley bunch of the aimless, the forgotten, the bitter-and-twisted who all think that, really, they deserve to be somewhere else. They all think they're there by accident and that, with a little luck, life is going to get better. Wrong, on both counts. Six is about to arrive - and All Hell Will Break Loose!

liam cunningham just strolling into a crumbling scottish cop shop like he owns the place and immediately knowing every awful thing everyone's ever done... i was SO in. assault on precinct 13 for people who grew up on the old testament basically. the synth score alone had me grinning like an idiot, it's doing that full carpenter thing where you're nervous before anything even happens. and pollyanna mcintosh is lowkey one of the better final girl types i've seen in years, she's not screaming helplessly she's actually a cop doing cop things which rules. yeah it talks a lot before it gets loud but i never once wanted it to stop, 92 minutes of a bad night getting steadily worse and i'd watch it again tonight
