a girl gets eaten by a grand piano and i have never seen blood look less convincing in my life. blue paint, a chroma key, a guy hand-cranking heads across the screen. and i loved it. it's all fake, sure, but it's fake built in a garage by people who clearly stayed up all night. a flying head bites a butt. a watermelon laughs. none of it's the real thing i usually clock, but the sheer handmade nerve of it won me over. ghost stories bore me and this one didn't. fingers wiggling inside the piano keys is the best worst kill i've seen all year.

  • Yuki StaticThat painted-on nonsense IS the signal, not the noise. Pure analog hiss, a fever dream that grins while it eats. Give me the scissors and glue grain over polished weight any night, this one hums for me.

a haunted house that hums instead of creaks. the cat's eyes flare green and the whole image goes wrong. it shouldn't work. fingers in the piano keys, blood that's obviously just paint flooding the frame, and somehow it lands like a half-remembered dream. the white cat starts meowing the theme and i felt it crawl up my arms. all that 70s grain doing the thing 4k never can. soft and rotten and lovely. rip to gorgeous's friends but i'd have stayed home with the tapes.
