Clive Barker wanted monsters to be the heroes, and Midian is one of horror's great unfinished cathedrals. The studio cut hobbled it, but the Cabal vision underneath is pure underrated mythology — a creature feature with a beating, sympathetic heart. Messy, yes, but the lore it builds is bigger than its budget allowed.
