a pool drain yanking a man's guts out should have been a showcase. instead it's all pixels, no squib, no latex, just rendered spray where a real rig belonged. two decades in a garage taught me you can feel that difference, and my couch felt nothing. carter dragged and lit off the tow cable almost had weight. almost. the escalator gears could've been a practical masterpiece and they rendered it like a cutscene. bigger budget than the older ones, blown on a computer instead of an effects shop. loud kills, every one. none of them built.
