lorna strung up by the ankles, the bathory woman scoring little lines down her back before the throat opens. KNB built all of it for real and you can feel the weight in every drip running off the latex. yeah the formula's tired, roth running back the first one beat for beat. but nobody cheaped out. that final snip in the basement is a real prosthetic, a real cut, a real thud. less suspense than the original, more craft in the kills, and i'll take a good squib over a jump scare any day.
