two people in a boat, soaked in someone else's blood, saying nothing, drifting. most truthful image of a relationship i've seen this year. diego pries his grandmother's ring off a severed finger and proposes anyway, which is about where i stopped trusting love as anything but biology lying to you. the propeller does its work and the lake doesn't care. the picture is plush and pretty, the violence loud, but what stays is the scale of the nothing underneath it. cin and will weren't a twist so much as a mirror. nobody is saved here either. they just survive into the next silence, and that was the only ending available.
