"we need bigger guns. BIG fucking guns!" and from that line on i was theirs. the real crime is this never got a follow-up. a flooded london, rutger hauer mainlining coffee and chocolate donuts instead of booze, a heart-eating rubber-suit creature lurking in the underground, that's a franchise starter kit and nobody picked it up. yeah the monster is basically alien on a budget and the plot has no brain, but the buddy-cop chemistry carries it, hauer and the rookie cracking up on camera and they just kept it in. a cult slab that deserved a sequel in the drowned tube tunnels. rip to the part 2 that never was.
