deborah ann woll is doing legitimately some of the best acting i've seen in a shudder joint this year and the maggots alone had me curling my toes up off the theater floor. the first half where it's basically autopsy of jane doe cosplaying as a cold case is SO good that i was lowkey devastated when the howling started and it turned into a different (still fun) movie. like the quiet dread of standing over a body you can't explain hit me 10x harder than anything with teeth did later. practical effects all the way through tho, no ugly cgi slime, you can feel every rip which i respect. not the second coming the 95% had me bracing for but i'll take moody and mean over clean any day
