A burning Godzilla, on the verge of meltdown, emerges to lay siege to Hong Kong. At the same time horrifying new organisms are discovered in Japan. These crustacean-like beings are seemingly born of the Oxygen Destroyer, the weapon that killed the original Godzilla.

a low orange heat coming off godzilla's body before he even moves. you can hear the meltdown like a tape running too hot, that wrong electrical buzz under everything. and then destoroyah crawls out of the same oxygen destroyer that killed the first one in '54, which is just. the whole thing looping back on itself across forty years. when junior dies and the music drops out into this shaking nothing i had to sit very still. they kill him with cold blue light and the city goes silent and i felt it in my teeth. rip to the big guy. i'm not different here. i would have cried in that coliseum too.
