the killer beats a guy to death with his own camera and the mic accidentally records it, which is a better idea than anything in the first one. entry two is where this series actually gets interesting and nobody gave it a shot, it landed post-scream when everyone was tired. their loss. loretta devine returns as reese and finally gets her coffy moment and i stood up in my living room. an argento INFERNO decapitation steal? bold. building a whole killer around a fencing mask? i think that rules. sharper than it believes it is? no. but the film-school setting lets it get meaner and weirder than part one, and i'll defend it for life. no part 3 ever came, and that's the real tragedy.
