okay so this is not a great movie and i will defend it anyway. danielle harris is doing more acting at seven years old than half the adults in slasher history, that nightmare scene where she wakes up messed me up as a kid and it still kinda does. the rest of it though... they run the sped up theme into the ground and the redneck vigilante guys show up like they wandered in from a different and worse film. pleasence is fully committed to being the most exhausted man in illinois and bless him for it. i know it lives in the shadow of the first two but the last stretch earns the whole thing, and if you grew up on 80s halloween nights this just hits something. mid as a film, higher than mid in my heart
