She always gets a part.
Seven years after the death of his wife, widower Shigeharu seeks advice on how to find a new wife from a colleague. Taking advantage of their position as a film company, they stage an audition. Interviewing a series of women, Shigeharu is enchanted by the quiet Asami. But soon things take a twisted turn as Asami isn’t what she seems to be.

kiri kiri kiri. that whisper lives under everything else, half an hour of nothing but a phone that won't ring and a sack in the corner you keep waiting to move. miike spends an hour pretending it's a sad little romance, all soft light and quiet rooms, and the dread is just a hiss you can't quite hear yet. then the needles go under the eye and it cuts straight to bone. i watched most of the foot part through my fingers and i don't think that sound has ever fully left my head. asami doing the rest of us a favor.
