they pinned half a doberman to a board and made it twitch, all rods and puppet, and i rewound it twice. tarman is the real flex though, allan trautman in a full suit slathered in methocel goo so he drips the whole take, nothing wipes off in post. that's a man suffering for the work. the half-corpse on the gurney explaining WHY they eat brains is a foam latex bust with a working jaw and real squib work in the crematory. o'bannon shot every gag in camera, nobody hid behind a cutaway, even the skeletons have perfect teeth. this is what a workshop looks like when it's run by people who give a damn.
