a hook through the back of a head in the first ten minutes told me everyone was about to be wrong about this. 36% on the tomatometer. thirty-six. the audience gave it 67 and for once the audience is right. is it leaning on the original? yes, and that's the point. this franchise has always been about the past dragging you back, so doing it again isn't lazy, it's the whole thesis. julie and ray walking back in hit me harder than i wanted to admit. madelyn cline actually commits, she's not just standing there waiting to die. fourth entry and people act like the well dried up. this is the most overlooked slasher of the year, where the series finally stops apologizing and lets the killer cook.
